The shock absorber is one of the important parts of the car’s support system, and in order to keep the car balanced, it provides a comfortable and safe ride for the driver and passenger.
Shock absorbers are divided into liquid and gas based on their working type. Liquid shock absorbers use viscous oil, while gas shock absorbers use a combination of gas and viscous oil.
Shock absorbers are divided into two categories according to the type of operation:
- A single acting shock absorber is weak in contraction and has high resistance or stiffness in extension.
- Bidirectional shock absorbers work with high resistance during contraction and expansion.
Deterioration of the shock absorber can cause rough obstacles to be sensed, making the ride uncomfortable and dangerous, and adversely affecting other supporting parts.
